The Friends of Barton Springs Pool creates a community of people dedicated to restoring, improving and maintaining the pool and surrounding grounds through organizing, advocacy, volunteer work, education and fun. We work to inspire an appreciation of the rich history of Barton Springs Pool and pride in this natural treasure.  We honor the pool’s sensitive environment and work to preserve and protect it so that we, and generations long after ours, can continue to enjoy the cool, clean spring waters.

Shoal Creek Conservancy

Shoal Creek Conservancy was established in 2013 with the mission of restoring, protecting and enhancing the ecological, social and cultural vibrancy of Shoal Creek for the people of Austin, Texas by engaging the public and partnering with the community. They seek to achieve this mission through activities that maintain and improve the Shoal Creek trail and greenway; enhance the public’s enjoyment of the Creek; and restore the watershed. Shoal Creek is the city’s oldest trail and extends for approximately four miles through the heart of Austin, Texas

Sustainable Food Center

Founded in 1993, with roots dating back to 1975 as Austin Community Gardens, Sustainable Food Center is involved in every step of our local food system. SFC’s mission is to cultivate a healthy community by strengthening the local food system and improving access to nutritious, affordable food. SFC envisions a food-secure community where all children and adults grow, share, and prepare healthy, local food.

TreeFolks is a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to empower Central Texans to build stronger communities through planting and caring for trees. Since 1989, TreeFolks volunteers and staff have planted 1.6 million trees in Central Texas at schools, parks, in medians, right of ways, community gardens, greenbelts and on private lands to restore the Lost Pines in Bastrop County. TreeFolks impact preserves the Central Texas quality of life by cooling the air, cleaning precious water, sheltering us from the hot Texas sun, and by providing a shaded sense of place that fosters a healthy, connected community.

The Waller Creek Conservancy transforms and sustains Austin’s Waller Creek creating an extraordinary urban place that connects, surprises, and inspires all of us. Waller Creek is an iconic and flourishing public place reflecting Austin’s diversity and dynamic spirit. Founded on the bedrock of great design, it renews the natural environment, fosters the creative arts, and nourishes authentic and uplifting experiences. It is a beloved and vital green artery that serves as a model for transforming urban life.
